Ocean census discovers new fish

More than 600 species of new fish have been discovered by a major ocean census. The Census of Marine Life Project will produce a database of information that will be available to the public, 15,304 species already included. Check out the article.

New Marine Species

274 new species to science and 86 species that were previously unrecorded in the area were found in Australian waters off the coast of Tasmania, in two separate research voyages in 2006 and 2007. Check out the full story and some amazing photos, here.

Garbage Island

I watched this last summer its a Vice 12 part mini series about the plastic build up in the oceans and the pacific garbage patch. Each episode is about 5 minutes long, informative and entertaining! Just a warning, there may be some crude language. Enjoy!
